Colonial IU 20: Excellence in Education Awards Recognize Innovation

Awards ceremonies offer exciting opportunities to dress up, smile for the cameras, and earn well-deserved kudos for the hard work behind creation of new and inspiring things.

That’s why Colonial IU 20 created the Excellence in Education Awards, a highly anticipated annual event recognizing innovators who inspire learning and reinvent education to accommodate changing times.

The 2017 awards, held at the charming Event Center at Blue, Easton, attracted about 200 guests, including honorees, school administrators, and students. Awards were presented in three categories: While winners went home with a coveted Crystal Award, many other schools received honorable mentions for their groundbreaking work. The evening also recognized students who were National Merit Scholars. 

“The best teachers and administrators aren’t in the education business to win plaudits, but everyone appreciates a pat on the back and a recognition that their work has real impact,” said CIU20 Executive Director Dr. Charlene M.
